1. Tell us about your work: I make little stuffed animals out of yarn or felt. I do a little knitting, crocheting, and sewing all with the aim of making something cute that I'd be proud to give as a gift.

2. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter? You're supposed to ask yourself what you'd be doing if you didn't have to work, and your answer is the passion you should turn into a career. I've always loved crafting but never had enough free time for it. During a recent bout of unemployment I had lots of free time and I filled it all with crafting. That's when it all clicked and I decided to make an Etsy shop.

3. Where do you draw your inspiration? My friends and family. Almost every one of my projects in the last few months started out as a gift for a loved one, so I base it on their interests and hobbies. The amigurumi octopus was for my multitasking mom (she had to remind us that she didn't have 8 arms) and the sperm was for my friend who is studying public sexual health. If the project turns out well, I usually make more for my Etsy shop.

4. What’s your favorite item to make? That changes almost daily. Right now it's my little crocheted turtles, they remind me of my pet turtle.

5. What’s your best seller? Hahaha, I haven't actually sold anything yet. The crocheted sperm get the most attention by far. It's an odd item, I don't have much competition in the yarn sperm market.

6. How long have you been in Rhode Island? I'm a newbie, I've only been here since June 2010.

7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island? How beautiful it is! It's so easy to take the scenery for granted when you see it every day, but I'm constantly blown away. The ocean is just breathtaking. On top of all of the natural beauty, there's so many beautiful historical buildings and mansions. I will never get tired of walking around here. It really is a hidden gem.
