My parents came up for a weekend visit and we met for breakfast at Scramblers. I pass the restaurant often, and they always have signs for the most unusual breakfasts, so I wanted to give it a try.

Earlier in the week I'd seen a sign for "Boston Cream filled French Toast," but that wasn't on the marquee when we arrived.

I asked our server Bella about it, and she said she'd ask the chef. A minute or two later, Mike arrived at the table. That's right, the chef came out of the kitchen to make sure he was going to get my order right. He explained just what goes into Boston Cream filled French Toast (Boston cream and chocolate chips), and made it up special for me. It was a big plate of happy, served with a dollop of whipped cream on top. Fair warning, though, unless you have a huge appetite, you're going to want to share this.

My parents were not so adventurous, my Mom having Eggs Benedict and my dad ordering eggs and toast. Both seemed satisfied with their meals.

The service was good and friendly, particularly Bella and Mike. At one point I think we ended up with two servers, so they might not be all that organized. Even so, it was a good experience, and reasonably priced.
