188 Atwells Ave.
Providence, Rhode Island

Caitlin and I were strolling Atwells Avenue the other day in that unseasonable heat, and we passed Rhode House Creamery. I've seen it dozens of times as I've driven the Avenue, but hadn't stopped in. We decided we deserved a treat and went in.
Inside it's cute and clean with lots of bright colors.

There's a couple of tables, but it does seem more like a carry-out place, although there is a tv tuned to the Food Network. We were served by the owner, Kin-na Wilson, and the service was quick and friendly.

I tried the coconut chocolate almond ice cream. It was delicious, with large chunks of chocolate and whole almonds. Caitlin had soft-serve vanilla, which she liked. She also tried some of mine, and said "I liked that it had whole almonds instead of flaked or sliced, and I thought the chocolate in it was good, more like fudge because it was softer than the semisweet chips they usually use in ice cream."
I was charmed by the jar on the counter of ice cream shots, perfect if you just want a small portion, or can't make up your mind.

We're looking forward to going back again, and taking Bear with us.
