Book review ~ Mother Daze - Tales from the Imperfect Playground by Christine Carr

It took far too long, but I finally got a chance to sit down with Chris Carr's Mother Daze: Tales from the Imperfect Playground.

Chris is a mother of three and an elementary school gym teacher. She's used her coaching and her parenting experience to forge a strong ethical worldview in which people should work together, be honest and do for each other. She's not naive enough to think that the world actually works that way, but that's not what ethics are, anyway.

Her ruminations on the various aspects of parenting, especially related to the lessons she teaches about fair play and sportsmanship, are funny and wise. Most of the (short) chapters are very relatable.

I enjoyed getting to know Chris through her book, and meeting her in person. She writes like she talks, strong philosophical paragraphs, with a dash of anecdote for illustration.

Good one!
