1. Tell us about your product:
I make gourmet filled cupcakes. I like to combine flavors from my Latin heritage with seasonal local flavors. I also like pair my cupcakes with beer and wine and have used both beer and wine in my cupcakes. I do all special occasions and can create custom cakes.

2. How did you get started making your product(s)?
I have always enjoyed sweets and as soon as I was able to use the stove I started baking for my family cookies, brownies and cakes. I graduated from Johnson & Wales in 2011 with a degree in Pastry Arts and it further fulled my desire to start my own business in baking.

3. Is there a story behind the name of your business?
Kind of. Whenever my family and friends would try one of my experiments they always would say "Delicious." A nickname many of my friends use for me is "D." So it just came together D'Licious.

4. Where can we find your products?
Currently I am a bake to order business, but you can find my cupcakes daily at Federal Hill Pizza 1039 Chalkstone Ave in Providence.

5. What’s your best seller?
I have 2 best sellers, my Passion Fruit & Coconut and Guava & Cheese. My Chocolate Dulce de Leche and Hot Chocolate are neck and neck for my 3rd best seller.

6. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
Born and raised, I'm 34 years young.

7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
Everything! The weather, haha, the short commute, the beaches, the restaurants, the fresh local foods, the pride RI'ers feel about their little state. Like most RI'ers say I am anchored to RI.

8. Favorite place to take out-of-towners?
This is tough, depends on the season. Definitely to our beaches and any place you can find a good chowda, clam cakes and oysters.

9. Any advice for new/wannabe food makers?
Fear is your biggest obstacle, try even if you are afraid. Find the right support, do your research, and learn your price point and budget.

10. Please include anything else you’d like to add:
We at D'Licious are happy to announce we won the People's Choice Award at the 2017 RI Food Fights Cupcake Championship. Last year we won 1st place judge's award. Very proud to have these two awards!
