1. Tell us about your work.
I have been designing and formulating candles for 10 years. With a knack for scent selection and a desire to use the very best ingredients.

2. Is there a story behind the name of your business?
It is named after our nephew's daughter, Orla. The name is of Irish origin, and means golden princess.

3. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
We needed to add more product to our product catalog of music cds and came up with thematically paired natural soy wax candles that matched our cds.

4. Where do you draw your inspiration?
There seems to be a scent or fragrance that accompanies our feelings and experiences. I draw on my life experiences and scent memory when selecting scents.

5. What’s your favorite item to create?
The wedding candle favors, working with the bride and groom to choose the best fragrance that describes them and their life together.

6. What’s your best seller?
Tuscan Olive, also known as eucalyptus, thyme and lavender. A very herbal complex scent. Others are lemon verbena; red currant & thyme; and grapefruit mangosteen.

7. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
I have been in and out of RI my whole life and have spent most of it here!

8. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
As a life long sailor I love Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island Sound as well as our coastal towns and beaches. You don't have to drive too far to find a nice place to spend your day off.

9. Favorite place to take out-of-towners?
Newport

10. Any advice for new/wannabe makers?
Be sure to test your candles and understand how they should burn safely.
