1. Tell us about your blog.
Moving from San Diego to Providence has been quite an adventure for us. We document our trials and triumphs through local restaurants reviews, recipes that are perfect for date nights, creative date ideas and various lessons we’ve learned along the way in marriage. Our main goal is to help other couples keep their relationship interesting and fall more in love everyday.

2. Is there a story behind the name of your blog?
There’s not really a story behind the name of our blog but more so the meaning of it. We started this crazy journey one week after our honeymoon. We trekked across the nation and made a new life with each other here in Rhode Island. Everything that we’ve done and accomplished together has certainly been better together.

3. How did you get started?
All of our married and dating friends have always told us that we have really creative date ideas and always ask for recommendations so we decided, why not share our ideas with everyone? On a personal level, we’ve seen many broken marriages around us which is heart breaking. We’ve decided to do something about it. Even if it’s in a small way and we’ve only impacted one marriage, that’s enough for us to consider this blog as a success.

4. Who is your target audience?
Married or dating couples that are either new to Rhode Island or are looking for creative date ideas that are more detailed than the typical Pinterest checklists, want marriage or dating resources, or in general want to keep their relationship interesting and do something more than the occasional movie night together.

5. What do you love about what you do?
We love helping couples have better marriages. This blog also gets us out and exploring Rhode Island. We know what it’s like to move to a new city and not know any of the great restaurants or activities to do together so it’s fun finding Rhode Island’s gems and sharing them with any fellow Rhode Island newbie. And lastly, we’ve connected with some of the most amazing bloggers and Instagrammers. Surprisingly, some of them are from San Diego living in the New England area on the same adventure as us! We would have never met them had it not been for the blog.

6. What’s your most popular type of post?
Our most popular posts have been on marriage and dating resources. Although they tend to have the least comments or likes, the number of readers is significantly higher compared to our other post types.

7. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
It will be two years in March!

8. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
Where do we start?! We love the beautiful seasons. We love the beaches. Though different from San Diego, they have their own unique beauty (especially Beavertail! That’s our favorite). We love the food, we love the small, creative, quirky city of Providence. But the one thing that we {heart} about Rhody the most is the people that live in this beautiful state. They are so frank, are never afraid to share their opinion with you and treat you like family even though they barely know you. How refreshing!

9. Any advice for people wanting to get started blogging?
Don’t try to kill yourself by taking on too much at once with your blog. Readers can sniff out when you're rushing and overwhelmed. There have been times that we got so stressed about a blog post that we end up fighting about it. Then we realize it’s just a blog and it’s just one post. We’ve been very consistent so let’s take a breather, enjoy what we’re doing right now and write about something different on a later date. When we do that, we learn a little more about each other and usually wind up with a very popular post after the fact because it comes from the heart and not from a to do list.

We’ve also tried to tackle all of our social media at once. That was a mistake! Eric is in full time school getting his MBA plus doing internships and I have a full time job as well. We also volunteer twice a week at our church. Add on a blog, plus managing a Facebook page, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Periscope, etc is just too much. We actively post every Sunday on our blog and we do daily updates on our Instagram and Twitter. We put 100% into these three things. In the future we will put more time and effort into Facebook and Pinterest but for now, this all we can do and we’ve learned to be okay with it.

10. Favorite place to take out of towners?
We have A LOT of out-of-towners come and visit us - either from San Diego where I’m from or Seattle where my husband is from. We do what I call it the “Providence Experience”. We take them to the Shop for Humble Pie Co breakfast pies and iced coffee then walk down to the river and take them the First Baptist Church, Fleur de Lys, the Athenaeum and lastly Brown/Thayer Street if they have the energy. We do lunch at Geoff’s or Den Den and then go to Westminster Street for the afternoon. We end the night at the lovely Mills Tavern which by then, all of our friends {heart} Providence.

11. Please include anything else you’d like to add:
A big thanks to I {heart} Rhody for 1) being one of the first readers and supporters of our blog and 2) being the epitome of why it’s so great live in this state and supporting local bloggers.
(ed. note: awwww!)
