1. Tell us about your work
I make all sorts of handmade items. My main focus is my jewelry and my painted tote bags. I search all different s sites and vendor fairs for my supplies so that I can create unique pieces. My jewelry is mostly made with stone chips and pendants. Many of my earrings contain the stone chips as well as Swarovski crystals. I use acrylic paint on my tote bags, canvases and boxes.

2. Is there a story behind the name of your business?
The name of my business doesn't have to much of a story. I wanted something that represented me and what I do. So I am Wiccan which is where the "Magikal" part came from and I liked the way the alliteration flowed with Magikal Makings. It also encompasses the fact that I make multiple pieces, not just one type of thing!

3. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
I don't know that I would call myself a professional. As of now it is what I do on the side because I love doing it. I hope someday to have a shop with my work in it and that be what I do everyday. I started when I was younger just messing around but found that I loved doing it so much that I ended up with so many handcrafted pieces, I couldn't possibly give them all away as gifts and decided that other people might enjoy the chance to do so as well!

4. Where do you draw your inspiration?
My inspiration comes from everyday. I may her or see something. Somebody might ask if I make a certain thing. My daughter often suggest things for me to try. Sometimes I see things I like and think, if I did that but added this and used these colors and changed that just a bit it would be amazing!

5. Whats your favorite item to create?
I don't think I necessarily have a favorite item to create. I go through moods where I just want to paint and that is it. Tote bag after tote bag. Or I want to make a bunch of mini canvas! Then I will find a great assortment of charms and all I want to do is make necklaces. It really just depends on what I am feeling at the moment.

6. Whats your best seller?
I would have to say that right now my tote bags are my favorite sellers. That also changes I think depending on where I am selling and what time of year it is. I went through a period we I couldn't stop selling necklaces and thought I would never sell a bag again!

7. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
I have lived in Rhode Island my whole life!

8. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
I heart that Rhode Island has an amazing display of all four seasons. I heart that we are kind of removed from a lot of things but are sol close that we can explore all of New England. I love the food, the shops and the beautiful beaches and nature!

9. Any advice for new/wannabe makers?
My advice (and something I still have to remind myself) is that no matter how long it takes, you can do it. You will have busy times and lulls but do not ever give up on your dreams. What is most important is if you love to do it, keep doing it!

10. Please include anything else you'd like to add:
I guess the only thing I would like to add is that I am no where near done creating. I am always coming up with new ideas and fun things to try. I just need to find time to get pictures up on my site so the world can see all the fun I am having!
