1. Tell us about your work:
My work includes mostly natural materials. I really love working with natural wood and items I find on my own. Healing crystals are also worked into a lot of my pieces as well. I'm a little obsessed with them...

2. Is there a story behind the name of your business?
I am crazy about the moon. I work best at night and I sort of flow by the phases of the moon. Sounds silly but you do what works, right?

3. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
Well I wouldn't call myself a "professional" really...I do it on the side of my main business as a full time independent hair stylist. I just love to create and work with my hands. I've always been a crafter/artist since I was very young. I get it from my mother who was an artist when she was my age.

4. Where do you draw your inspiration?
It really has to just strike me. I have dry spells where I literally will sit down with all of my supplies around me and come up with nothing. Other times I'll sit down and won't stop working for a week straight. It really depends on where I'm at spiritually I guess, and also what's going on in the rest of my life.

5. What’s your favorite item to create?
I seem to have a LOT of necklaces. I do really enjoy candle making, though I don't have too many up in the shop right now.

6. What’s your best seller?
My healing crystals, for sure. Which is awesome because it gives me reasons to buy more!

7. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
All my life (29 years next month).

8. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
Oh man, I really do love it. I love our seasons and how close everything is, and how we aren't too far away from bigger cities if we want to make a day trip. I really love New England as a whole, I couldn't imagine living somewhere else. And of course the ocean is here too ;)

9. Any advice for new/wannabe makers?
Never stop learning and expanding your knowledge and your skills. I look at my beginner pieces and see how far I've come and how my style has changed and it's pretty amazing. Also, if you're starting something that you think looks terrible or that nobody will love it, you're probably wrong...just go with it!

10. Please include anything else you’d like to add:
I am also a hair artist (independent hairstylist) as I mentioned earlier! I'm located in downtown Westerly and have been doing hair for 8 years. I've been on my own and running my own shop for 4. My fb link is Facebook.com/elishashairandbeauty so if you're in the area, give me a call ;)
