Tell us about your work
I make ornaments for different occasions but mostly Christmas of course. I either hand paint designs and decoupage on colored ornaments or on clear ornaments which I fill with a variety of things. I also have a line of hand painted glass votive candles and glassware.

Is there a story behind the name of your business?
When I started my business in October we had just lost our 12 year old chocolate lab Ginger to stomach cancer. I wanted the name to be a kind of tribute to her.

How did you come to be a professional artist?
I started drawing when I was very young. I received my Bachelors degree from Rhode Island college in graphic design and have been a designer ever since. I only started making the ornaments last October. It has been a great creative outlet.

Where do you draw your inspirations?
Inspiration seems to come from everywhere. My mind is constantly going, always thinking of new ideas to try. There is such a feeling of pride when you get an idea and it turns out great, but not all ideas do.

What's your favorite item to create?
I really don't have a favorite. I can get more creative with the ornaments. I usually only make 1 to 3 of one style, then try something else. I get bored making the same thing over and over again.

What's your best seller?
Definitely the ornaments over the votive holders and glass ware. Last Christmas the owl Christmas ornaments were the most popular.

How long have you been in Rhode Island?
I've lived in RI all my life.

What do you {heart} about Rhody?
The diversity... Depending where you go in RI there's always something different. My favorite would be going down to the beach though. Rhode Island is a beautiful state.

Any advice for new makers?
Just do what you love. If you are passionate about something just have fun with it and be patient. Don't give up. It takes a while for word to get around but you can use the time to develop your craft.
