1. Tell us about your work
The work showcased in Pomp & Pastiche combines my interest in graphic design with my passion for card making, decor, and generally anything else that happens to be on-trend for the moment

2. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
I've always had an interest in crafts & design, and my college years spent as an avid member of AXO certainly allowed my crafting spirit to shine through. I now work for a prestigious catering company creating their ad materials and marketing campaigns, as well as custom signage for weddings and events which allows me to continue to express my creativity through multiple outlets.

3. Where do you draw your inspiration?
My inspiration isn't necessarily pinpointed to one specific area, but rather experiences as a whole. It could be a song that's stuck in my head, a piece of fabric I saw while shopping, or a new font I've just discovered. Each experience triggers ideas for new creations that I'm able to share through Pomp & Pastiche.

4. What’s your favorite item to create?
Although I love greeting cards, I am particularly enthralled by custom invitations. Although not present on my shop (yet!) I've created intricate, multi-piece invitation sets for blessings, weddings, and baby showers, with some of the simpler baby shower designs available for purchase now. I love being able to combine the client's vision and my creativity to come up with a piece that is truly unique.

5. What’s your best seller?
Currently, my best seller is my Best Friend Birthday Card. I came up with this simple piece while I was searching for a card for my own best friend, and decided I needed something a bit more personalized. I'm glad the sentiment I chose has been able to be the words they were searching for to tell their friend how much they really mean to them.

6. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
I was born and raised in RI and am in my 26th year of residence, with the exception of 4 years at the University of New Hampshire where I studied Recreation Management to enter into the field of Event Planning.

7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
Where to begin!
I {heart} having the ocean a short drive away, no matter where you reside
I {heart} the four seasons and the unpredictability each one brings
I {heart} Del's Lemonade, lobster rolls, coffee milk, and Iggy's
I {heart} how you can drive to various parts of the state and each have characteristics unique to the territory
I {heart} art festivals, parades, and RI summer nights

8. Please include anything else you’d like to add:
Photography is also a passion of mine, and I plan to add some of the shots I've captured while traveling to my ever-growing shop!
