1. Tell us about your work.
I work in a number of different media. I have been a jewelry designer and craftsman for many years. For the past ten years, I have been creating work in collage and decoupage using vintage images, paper and ephemera to make prints, work for the wall boxes and glass bowls and paperweights.

2. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter?
I have been a designer and craftsman for about 38 years. I received a BS in Crafts Design from Florida State University with my specialty in Metal work and enameling. I also received a certificate from RISD CE in Print design in 2006.

3. Where do you draw your inspiration?
I would say I draw most of my inspiration from the art of the past and a long list of favorite artists, designers and illustrators.

4. What is your favorite item to create?
Usually my favorite item to create is what I am working on at the moment. Last year it has been making small scale collages, 4 inches by 4 inches and under. They are free and spontaneous to make and often go very quickly.

5. What is your best seller?
My best seller at the last show I did was a poster with vintage images of colorful beetles. I have done a number of glass decoupage bowls with images of human anatomy on them (such as hearts, brains and eyes) that have sold quite well.

6. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
I was born here in Providence, left for Florida but moved back in 1977

7. What do you {heart} about Rhody?
I like the creative community in Rhode Island. There are artists, musicians, craftspeople, storytellers, dancers and theater people here a plenty. All following their own muse, defying categorization, breaking boundaries and doing what they need to do not what the market tells them to do.
Also the wonderfully rocky shores of the ocean state!
