1. Tell us about your work
My work is almost completely inspired by materials I see, stone, crystal, clay, etc. I rarely sketch a design before starting a piece. I may have a general idea of what I want to do, and it just flows as I go through my materials.

2. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
I cannot limit myself to certain styles or materials... it's just impossible. I am always bursting with ideas, so I can't say I have a "signature style". I will do a Victorian looking necklace and then next I am making a Goddess pendant.

3. Where do you draw your inspiration?
I draw my inspiration from many areas. Certainly from nature, I have been collecting rocks, minerals and crystals since I was young. I also love the natural designs in wood and leaves. I used to buy and sell antiques and vintage items, so I use vintage jewelry parts and found objects too.
I have a background in making stained glass art and mosaics.
So of course I can't resist the sparkle of Swarovski crystal and glass.

4. What’s your favorite item to create?
I have a thing for Owls, Peacocks, and Ravens so I have always made a lot of jewelry with these in the design. It seems a lot of other people feel the same because they really sell well.
I also feel a real sense of accomplishment when I make custom orders. It's a great feeling when a customer says " I love it, It's exactly what I wanted!"

5. What’s your best seller?
It's impossible to say there is any one thing that sells the most. I sell necklaces, earrings, bracelets hair sticks, key rings, bookmarks, and more. In my shops, there really is something for everyone. The one constant is my commitment to great quality at a reasonable price.

6. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
I am a born and raised Rhode Islander. I'm originally from East Providence, but I've lived in Chepachet (Glocester) for over 12 years now. Out in the woods on Keach Pond with no streetlights and a dirt road!

7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
love the fact that there are so many settings in such a small area. You have the beaches, the woods, farms, the city all within an hours drive pretty much.
I also love the small towns and small businesses in them. You can't really get excited about going to a "big box store" , but you never know what you will find in a little locally owned shop.
It really cracks me up when occasionally people from other parts of the country don't even seem to know R.I. is part of the U.S...I've been asked if it's really an Island.
