1. Tell us about your work
I work primarily in Sterling Silver wire. Although I do also work in Gold Filled (14/20), and copper, and sometimes anodized aluminum, for color. I specialize in chain-maille, and wire wrapping. Mostly I work with bracelets, earrings, and little accessories I call "Bugz". These are little (abount 1 inch in length) pins, created from sterling silver wire, and Swarovski crystal components.

2. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
I have always been interested in jewelry, even as a child. Through the SCA, a Medieval/Renaissance re-enactment group, I watched "the guys" make chaim-maille armor. I thought, I can do that, but make it pretty. When my position at a healthcare insurance company was eliminated, I had ample time to pursue this.

3. Where do you draw your inspiration?
Interestingly enough, I get great inspiration from my customers! Quite frequently, a customer will look at a piece, and say, "that's cool, but could you do it this way instead?" From these suggestions, "Bugz became Spiderz, and an all silver bracelet became a bracelet accented with green, and purple links. I love to listen to other folks thoughts and ideas.

4. What's your favorite item to create?
I have to say the little Bugz & Spiderz. They are really fun, fairly quick, and each little critter develops a personality of its own.

5. What's your best seller?
This varies from show to show. Some times it is the Bugz, some times, its my signature earrings, I call "Simply Spirals" On really good days it's the bracelets!

6. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
All my life, which is a little over 60 years.

7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
The ocean, the beaches, Water Fire, the food (!) and of course the people!

8. Please include anything else you?d like to add:
I currently display my work for purchase at Maxwell's Made in America (25 West Main Street, Wickford, RI) An artists co-op dedicated to keeping jobs in the USA, and the concept of buying local. There are a great many talented artists there and I'm very proud to be one of that number

I am also a member of Ocean State Artisans, which is a state-wide volunteer organization of Artists, Artisans, Craftspeople and Craft-Related Business Owners for Networking, Information Referral, and Business Information. They are a joy to work with and have been very helpful in suggesting venues, and other business related activities.

I will be participating in the Slater Park Fall Festival on September 21 & 22, at Slater Park in Pawtucket, RI. As well as the Ocean State Artisans Holiday Crafts Festival November 29 & 30 At the CCRI Knight Campus. I'm thrilled to death to be part of both of these shows!
