1. Tell us about your work
I want my work to be elegant, yet fun. I love simple, classic designs. Most of my projects are printed. I love paper. I love being able to cut, score, and hold my work in my hands. More recently I have been working on some digital designs like phone wallpapers. It is just as fun to see them light up on your phone.

2. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
I majored in Graphic Design at RISD. After I graduated I started off just designing small projects for family and friends. Eventually the word spread and now there isn't a week that goes by that someone doesn't ask me to work on something for them.

3. Where do you draw your inspiration?
My greeting card designs are inspired by things that I find in nature, design blogs, magazines and on Pinterest. I like to learn a lot about my clients before I begin to design so that my one-of-a-kind designs are inspired by them.

I am always chatting with friends online and getting feedback while I am designing. It is great to know that I can still be in touch with my RISD friends even though they're so far away.

4. What’s your favorite item to create?
Hmm...that is a tough one! I like to create each item for a different reason. I like the custom designs because I get to design through the eyes of clients...I like designing greeting cards because the possibilities are endless...and I like designing phone wallpapers because I can just have fun making patterns and being silly with my creations. I'm sorry I just can't pick one!

5. What’s your best seller?
My best seller is my Anchor Wallpaper that is actually inspired by Rhode Island! Check it out here!

6. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
Forever and ever! I was born in Rhode Island, grew up here, went to college here and still live here! so 29 years!

7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
I {heart} how everything is so close in Rhode Island. You never need to drive far to get anywhere. I also {heart} the delicious food! Speaking of delicious food...I also designed the entire identity for Fugo food truck.

8. Please include anything else you’d like to add:
Remember, if you don't see a design that you want please contact me and I can make it happen! My cards can also be found in stores at Phred's Drugs in Cranston. I am currently looking for other local Rhode Island stores to sell my cards. Please contact Deanna at if anyone is interested. Thanks!
