1. Tell us about your work: I am an artist, but I have always enjoyed working with sugar and fondant, too! I have been decorating cakes and cookies since I was about ten years old.

2. How did you come to be a professional baker? I was a personal chef, and I also made many cakes and cookies for friends and relatives...they kept telling me I should have my own cake business, so I started Angelfood.
3. Where do you draw your inspiration? I love organic designs, like flowers leaves and vines. I also like architectural and fashion details and use those as well. As far as cake flavors, I am always experimenting with different combinations of cake, fillings and frostings!

4. What’s your favorite item to make? My favorite thing is when someone requests something I have never made before! I enjoy the challenge, and I really love it when the customer is so pleasantly surprised at what I came up with!
5. What’s your best seller? I'd have to say my Wedding Monogram cookies, and also the Yo Gabba Gabba cookies. Kids must really love that show!

6. How long have you been in Rhode Island? I have lived here for almost nine years.
7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island? I love it here!! It is so beautiful, and it really is amazing how many different landscapes and microcosms there are. You can easily go from laid-back beach mode, to hipster city life, to rustic country living. I love it!
8. Please include anything else you’d like to add: I raise and care for my own free-range chickens, and use their eggs in my baking. We compost and have a huge vegetable garden every year. I sincerely hope that the "locavore" movement continues to grow, and that people realize how important and valuable it is to support local farmers and artisans.
